Meghan Cease, a native of Brentwood, Tennessee, has called the Magic City home for the past 30 years. She received a degree in Marketing Communications from The University of Mississippi. Immediately upon graduation, Meghan moved to New York to pursue a career in marketing. Working for companies such as Conde Nast Publications, Ellie Tahari, and David Yurman, she found her love for event planning. Missing the South, Meghan eventually moved home and and attended Auburn University where she received her MBA in International Marketing and Project Management. Soon after graduation, M. Elizabeth Weddings and Events was established.
When Meghan isn't planning beautiful weddings, you can find her at Lake Martin enjoying time with her family, eating Mexican food, cuddling with her Goldendoodles, traveling back to the Big Apple, belting out Musicals (Wicked is her favorite!), and spending time with friends around a beautiful charcuterie board and champagne!
Shelbi Simpson, a native of Ohatchee, Alabama, graduated from The University of Alabama with a degree in Restaurant and Hospitality Management and a minor in Consumer Science in 2017. Shelbi found her way to M. Elizabeth Events when she joined our internship program in May 2017. During her internship, she quickly became an important part of the M. Elizabeth Events team, and became our Associate Planner in August 2017. She is no stranger to the event industry, as she started working for a catering company in Tuscaloosa during high school. She realized her passion for event planning while working as a venue coordinator in Birmingham during college.
When Shelbi isn’t planning weddings, you can find her spending time with her family and friends at the beach. She also enjoys sitting on her porch enjoying a good book with a glass of wine, while cuddled up with her pups.
